Eileen Murray
Eileen Murray (1885-1962)
Eileen Frances Jane Bunbury Chester was born at Templemore, Co. Cork, on the 21st December 1885, daughter of Col. W.L. Chester, RAMC. Educated privately, she studied with genre painter, Stan Forbes, RA (1857-1947) at Newlyn in Cornwall. She married Major F.S.J. Murray and lived in India for many years. She returned to Ireland in 1920 to Mosstown House, Kenagh, Co. Longford, a house inherited by her husband. She soon started contributing to the R.H.A, Dublin Sketching Club and the Belfast Arts Society.
